1. Using the Artboard Tool:
The Artboard Tool allows you to easily change the background color of your artboard. Simply select the Artboard Tool, click on the artboard, and choose a new background color from the Color panel.
2. Placing a Rectangle:
Create a rectangle that covers the entire artboard. Then, choose a fill color for the rectangle to set it as the background. You can also use a gradient or pattern fill for more creative backgrounds.

You can import an image to use as the background in Illustrator. Simply go to File > Place, select the image you want to use, and adjust its size to cover the artboard. You can also use the Clipping Mask option to fit the image to the artboard.
5. Using the Appearance Panel:
Select the artboard and open the Appearance panel. Here, you can add a new fill or effect to the artboard, allowing you to create unique background designs. Experiment with different settings to achieve the desired look.
